Who am I and what is Kuura Essentials?

I want to share a little about me and Kuura Essentials, so you know what we are all about <3

My name is Maija and I am the sole founder of Kuura Essentials. I am a Cidesco Beauty Therapist, Bachelor of Business and have been in and out in the cosmetic industry for approx. 20 years. In addition to aromatherapy and essential oils, I am also crazy about my family, Nature, Herbal Medicine and Chinese Medicine. Kuura Essentials is my accidental third child.

My interest in Natural and holistic health care started, when I fell seriously ill in my twenties. Western medicine could only do so much, worked wonders as a band-aid and got me going, but did not get to the root of the problem. So, my journey started!

Since then, I have read A LOT. So many books that I don´t even know where to begin. Tried “millions” of different alternative treatments, some successful, some not, but found my way. So, my interest in Nature, what it has to offer us, and its potential grew and grew as the years went by, so here I am now with Kuura Essentials.

My mission is to encourage people towards a more Natural lifestyle. I want to share my constantly growing knowledge on essential oils and Nature and want to offer you fantastic ready-to-use products that can help you with your well-being. Even though I know a lot, sometimes I feel like I am still a rookie. The more you learn, the more you find out that you know so little.

I also want to share my journey with you on living a Natural lifestyle in the countryside. You will find interesting articles and my Journal on the website under the NEWS section. Check it out!

Today, I specialize in Aromatherapy, especially SAFETY. Essential oil safety is still quite unknown, even though the use of essential oils and aromatherapy are gaining popularity. I just finished my Essential Oils Safety Masterclass Degree, which is one of a kind. Just waiting to receive my official certificate.

My knowledge is based on new research and scientific findings on the benefits of essential oils, not forgetting personal experience.

All Kuura Essentials products are in a ready-to-use form, so you do not have to think about the dilutions, safety issues or which oils to choose from. I want aromatherapy to be available to all and especially to be easily accessible.

All relevant and safety information is found on the label of the product. The labels are multilayered, no outer package, in courtesy of Nature of course.

All products are NATURAL AND ORGANIC. At the moment, our selection contains of:

  • Therapeutic scents for morning and evening (Rise&Shine & Just Chillin´)
  • Functional products for tick and mosquito prevention (Outdoor No. 1 & Outdoor No. 2)
  • Cosmeceutical product (Itchy&Scratchy) for all those minor skin issues.

At the moment, I am a stay at home mother for two (2) kids. My oldest is at daycare, but my youngest is still at home. I work when I can and try to find a working balance between being a mother and an entrepreneur. Next fall the younger one also starts daycare, so I can focus more on the business and head towards my goals with the business.

As mentioned earlier, Kuura Essentials is my accidental third child. Always wanted to have my own business, but never thought I would have the courage. But life has a way of making things happen if you are ready for it. Long story short: Posted a pic on the products I made for my family on social media, got a lot of feedback from friends that they are also interested in them. Had the idea, THIS IS IT! Had a test group the following summer and decided that if the feedback is good, will start the company, if the feedback is bad, will not. Well, as you may have noticed, here I am with my company. The feedback was EXCELLENT.

So, now you know a little about me and the company. Hope you enjoy us and do not hesitate to contact me if you have good ideas you want to share or if you are hoping for a product that is not on the market yet.
